Rev. Jerry Ward

First United Methodist Church of Wellsville is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Jerome Ward as its new pastor as of July 1st.

Pastor Jerry, as he prefers to be called , is a native of Bemus Point, New York. He graduated from Bemus Point Central School, Houghton College and Asbury Theological Seminary. His wife Linda grew up near Kennedy, New York and graduated from Falconer Central School. She worked for a number of years as an Executive Secretary. They have been married thirty-five years and have two married daughters and a grandson.

Pastor Jerry's previous pastorates included Panama and Watts Flats, Findley Lake, Kidder Church in Jamestown and First United Methodist Church of Fredonia. He has served in various capacities in the Western New York Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Pastor Jerry comes to Wellsville with a desire to build the church here and reach out to the community and surrounding area with the love of Christ.

Sending Forth Celebration for Pastor Lee and his family

There will be a COMBINED SERVICE ON JUNE 22 to celebrate the ministry of Pastor Lee Williams. Following the service will be a reception. Monetary donations for food for the reception or a gift for the Williams family can be given to SPRT members or Mary Rogers. Please come and share in sending forth Pastor Lee and to thank him for the leadership he has provided over these past years.

Welcoming Gathering for Pastor Jerry Ward and Linda Ward

On SUNDAY JULY 6, 2008 there will be a reception following the 8:30 am service to welcome Pastor Jerry Ward and his wife Linda. Also following the 11:00 am service there will be another reception for Pastor Jerry and Linda. Having two receptions will allow for more one-on-one time to meet and welcome the Ward’s.
